DANCE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS SCA Dance Department encourages student creativity while emphasizing proper technique and terminology. Our expert teachers provide instruction in a progressive manner allowing focus on body placement, timing, fluidity, musicality and expression. Our students learn in an environment conducive to growth and development due to our teacher’s nurturing and supportive approach. SCA dancers not only learn the art of dance but they also achieve valuable life skills such as teamwork, personal growth, kindness, respect and discipline in a fun and encouraging environment. TWIRLING TOTS AGES 2 - 3 With a focus on rhythmic awareness, active movement and basic coordination, this class for little ones will provide a fun and engaging introduction to movement! Participation by caregivers is required CREATIVE MOVEMENT AGES 3 - 4 This fun and exciting class is designed to introduce young students to self - expression and imagination through movement! Students will improve basic coordination and rhythm while learning to dance. BALLET & TAP COMBO Level I | AGES 4 - 6 Level II | AGES 7 - 10 This class covers beginning ballet and tap dance techniques while building skills such as rhythm, timing, waiting in line, taking turns, and related coordination and social skills. BALLET Primary | AGES 5 – 7 Level I | AGES 7 – 8 Level II | AGES 8 – 10 Level III – IV | AGES 10 - 16 Dancers develop discipline, confidence, and poise while learning classical ballet. Our progressive ballet curriculum emphasizes proper technique, terminology, musicality, and artistry. Students will learn the art of ballet, while bringing personality and fluidity to their movement. TAP Level I | AGES 5 – 7 Level II | AGES 7 – 9 Level III | AGES 10 – 12 Level IV | AGES 12 - 16 Tap builds rhythm, coordination, and musicality through a mix of Broadway and rhythm tap. Classes focus on proper technique, timing, and clarity of sound, with more complex rhythms introduced as students progress. NEW! K-POP DANCE Level I-II | Ages 7 - 10 Level III-IV | Ages 11 - 16 Students will learn high-energy choreography set to popular K-Pop music while building coordination, confidence, and performance skills.
